Anytime a tick is embedded, tick removal is required to prevent the transmission of tick-borne infections.

Background

During the visit is an opportune time to discuss the prevention of tick bites, symptoms of tick-borne diseases, and the provincial protocol for tick bites and diseases (review your provincial protocol).
