19 Creating a References Page

The references page must be double spaced and all entries must contain a hanging indent where the first line is not indented but every subsequent line of an entry is.

The references page must be a separate page from the rest of your paper and the word “References” must be in bold.

References must be listed in alphabetical order; typically by author surname. If you have two sources with the same author surname, list them in chronological order. For example, if you have two sources by Smith, J. but one is from 2015 and the other is from 2020, list the 2015 source first.

  2. Write the reference citation using the 4W’s and if needed compare to a correct citation example on the APA 7 Guide,
  3. Create the References page(s).
